Reverend Paul L. Scheyder lives in Niantic with his wife, Susie, and their five children:  Jacob, Michael, Daniel, Mary, and Hannah.  Pastor Scheyder was installed as pastor of Christ Lutheran Church on September 30, 2001.  He graduated from Valparaiso University with a degree in Theology and a minor in math.  Pastor Scheyder received his Master of Divinity Degree from Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.  After graduation, he was ordained on July 8, 1990 at the Lutheran Church of the Savior in Bedford, Massachusetts, and went on to serve Trinity Lutheran Church in Sulphur, Lousiana from 1990-1995.  Next he served St. John Lutheran Church in Woodstock, Illinois as an associate pastor until the end of 1999.  Pastor Scheyder was then called to establish a new program for Concordia Lutheran High School in Tomball, Texas as the Spiritual Life Pastor ministering to some 60 full and part-time staff as well as 430 students.  The call to Christ Lutheran Church in Niantic, CT came after two and one half years and he has enjoyed serving in East Lyme since.
